I get so up in arms about egalitarianism being deemed as the right way of thinking because it has inherent flaws - especially when it comes to biology. Biological differences exist. It's like watching a hypnotist show when professors stand in front of a classroom and convince people that there is equality in human biology. Are you kidding me? Professors believe and teach that we come from apes but don't recognize hierarchy; survival of the fittest; dominance when it comes to feminism? WTF? Someone please explain this to me, perhaps I'm just dim. How can both these things be correct at the same time: Survival of the fittest vs. equality between the biology of the sexes? Maybe Andy Kaufman can explain it to me.
Yes, I offered to fight any woman in class lol. I hope no one took me seriously. I was trying to prove a point with at radical statement. I used egalitarianism in the very offer to fight a woman and people were astonished that I would say such a thing yet they support the very ideal I was challenging, that men and women are equals biologically, so why was it such a shocking thing to say? I think it's ridiculous that the notion of biological equality even comes up in an institution of higher learning and I don't mind playing the bad guy to point it out. I can't have a baby!!! How then are men and women biologically equal? Stupid. The whole thing is stupid. I hate stupidity. That's why I acted out. I don't have much patience for what I find to be foolish. Sorry if I offended anyone. I am all for equality in the sexes where there is equality and there are many areas where there is, especially value.

I don't think anyone is claiming exactly what you are accusing them of. Biological differences exist. Feminists recognize this and call such differences a person's "sex." This of course translates into differences in physique. But the cultural standards of "superiority" (i.e. challenge a woman to physical fight) that you attribute to the male "sex" is culturally derived and is NEVER going to be universal in all occasions.
ReplyDeleteYou're making an arbitrary distinction that is only significant if you put it into a competitive (masculine) context.
Scott, I understand what you have written. However, I remain baffled at the notion that superiority is culturally derived when it comes to physique. This is because the survival of the fittest concept (competition) sits at the core of this debate. Certainly superiority exists! Is the lioness not superior to the zebra she kills? Is the lion not dominant over his pride? Do men not suppress, repress and oppress women? Aren't these the very complaints of feminism?!?! How then can there be debate on this issue of superiority?! If men were not superior they would not be able to press women in the ways in which they do. If the very order of our world and human evolution is determined by competition; only the strongest survive, then how is this a masculine doctrine and not a universal one? Yes, I understand that there are some women who could win in a physical fight with a man, but most couldn't. The black widow female spider eats the male after insemination, but certainly one or two have escaped with their lives. This is another example of the exception to the rule. Who would say that the female black widow is not superior to the male?
